OFFICIAL NOTICE
OF RACE
1. Rules
1.1.
The regatta will be governed by the Rules as defined in
the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008, except as
modified by the Sailing Instructions.
2. Eligibility and Entry
2.1.
Competitors may enter as Spinnaker class or Cruising class
(non-spinnaker) or TOMA Multi-hull class. Six boats of any
one class may race as a One-Design class at the discretion
of the Organizing Authority. Boats that do not form a
One-Design class will race under PHRF handicaps and will be
grouped into classes for competition. Classes may be started
together, but will be scored separately. Texoma Sailing Club
is a member of the USPHRF Fleet. Typical PHRF data is listed

Total handicap is calculated based on data submitted on the
event entry form. Questions may be addressed to the
TSC Race Captain.
2.2.
This event is being sanctioned by the Texas Offshore
Multi-hull Association (TOMA). All multi-hulls over 23ft
will be required to obtain a 2007 2008 TOMA PHRF
certificate at least 7 days prior to the event. You can

2.3.
A completed race entry form must be received by 10:00 p.m.,
Monday, April 14, 2008,
at the Texoma Sailing Club, 231 Churchill Lane, Pottsboro,
TX 75076-3151 to be on-time. An entry form is attached and
is also available at
www.texomasailing.org. You may include a check payable
to Texoma Sailing Club for your entry fee and dinner
tickets or you may register on-line and pay fees at
registration with cash, check, MasterCard, or Visa.)
Cancellations will be accepted and refunds made until April
16, 2008.
No
registrations will be accepted after noon, Wednesday, April
16, 2008.
2.4.
Social tickets should be reserved at the time of
application and must be purchased with/at
registration. Social tickets for events at Grandpappy Marina
are $20.00 for Friday, $15.00 for Saturday. Dinner tickets
for children, 12 and under are $5.00 per child, per night.
Discount tickets will not be sold at the door on
Friday or Saturday.
3. Fees
3.1.
The entry fee is $125 and a $50 late processing fee will be
assessed to all applications received after 10:00 p.m.,
Monday, April 14, 2008.
4.
Schedule
4.1.
All Skippers are required to check in with
Registration Officials to pick up their Skippers Packet
including Sailing Instructions, Competitor List, Class Flag,
and to sign completed entry forms that were electronically
submitted. Times are listed in 4.3 below.
4.2.
The Skippers Meeting will be held at the Regatta Pavilion
at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18th, 2008.

5. Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available after 5:00 pm,
April 17, 2008 at the check-in station at the Regatta
Pavilion.
6. Venue
6.1.
Grandpappy Point Marina is the location of the regatta
harbor.
6.2.
The racing area will be on Lake Texoma, East of the Marina
and will be shown in the Sailing Instructions.
6.3.
There will be two race courses, if needed, and will consist
of Windward/Leeward and/or Triangle courses (offset marks
and gates may be used).
7. Measurement/Weigh-In
Measurement is not required, but each boat is expected to
submit proof of a valid certificate, if required by their
ODR class. The Organizing Authority will not be responsible
for conducting or administering weigh-ins as required by ODR
class rules. Local ODR class associations shall be
responsible for conducting weigh-ins if required.
8. Scoring
The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the RRS, will be
used.
There are 7 planned races. The score of each boat will be
the sum of her scores for all races. If any class sails more
than 5 races, they will be allowed one throw-out race, which
amends RRS A2. One completed race will constitute a regatta.
9. Radio Communication
All boats must be equipped with a working VHF
radio, either fixed or handheld to aid in race management
communication.
10. Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to at least the top three finishers
of each class.
11.
Launching/Loading
Marina personnel will be on-station to assist in launching
of registered boats beginning at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, April
17, 2008. There will be no charge to the competitors for
launching or loading of registered boats. Slips at the gas
dock are available for rent through the Marina. Other slips
and side ties will be assigned on a first come, first served
basis and will be available only to registered entrants.
Free storage for boats on trailers before and after the
event is available on-site and launching for boats arriving
prior to April 17, 2008, may be made by arrangements with
