Commodore's Party
Every January, the new sailing season officially kicks off with the TSC Commodore's Party. After a gourmet meal, the newly elected club officers are introduced and trophies are awarded to the prior year's racing champions.
Race Committe Seminar
Prior to racing every year, Dave Long and Gary Witt offer a short, fun and informational seminar on how to conduct Race Committee. A must for anyone who'd like to serve as Race Committee. Free to TSC members and their crews.
Racing Rules of Sailing Seminar
Prior to the first race of the year, TSC Race Captain Dave Long offers a crash course (pun intended) on the Racing Rules of Sailing. Free to TSC members.
We know that one of the main reasons people don't race is because they can't find enough consistent crew. This fun social is open to all sailors (and wanna be sailors) who are potentially interested in joining a crew or would like to know more about sailing on Texoma. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow sailors from all across the region.
Free Family Fun Flotillas
Get your toes wet in the sport of sailboat racing in these easy, more relaxed fun races. Each boat is given their own start (from slowest to fastest) based on their handicap, so there is no pressure at the starting line. Then the boats race to a single point and back (usually reaching), which minimizes the need for seasoned crew work. A great race for families and to introduce non-sailing friends to the sport.
One of the highlights of the summer! Each dock at Grandpappy Point Marina sponsors one course (one dock does appetizers, another does salads, then main courses, deserts, etc.) of a meal, and everyone on the dock brings their favorite dish corresponding to their dock's course. We float a live band and bar on seperate barges that follow the party from dock to dock as the party progresses through each of the courses.
Clam Bake
After a day of sailing, raft-up at a beach near Grandpappy Point Marina and enjoy a real New England-style clam bake.
TSC Water Olympics
A day of goofy water sports and prizes for the whole family.
Jimmy Buffet Party
Buffet tunes. Beach. Good times. Need we say more?
Christmas Party
The last hurrah of the year is the Texoma Sailing Club Christmas Party & Gift Exchange. Relax by the fire, have dinner and watch grown adults scheme and plot to aquire and swap gag gifts.
