1. Rules
1.1.
The
regatta will be governed by the Rules as defined in the Racing
Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008, except as modified by the Sailing
Instructions.
2. Eligibility and Entry
2.1.
Competitors may enter as Spinnaker class or Cruising class
(non-spinnaker). Six boats of any one class may race as a One-Design
class at the discretion of the Organizing Authority. Boats that do
not form a One-Design class will race under PHRF handicaps and will
be grouped into classes for competition. Classes may be started
together, but will be scored separately.
2.2.
A
completed race entry form must be received by 6:00 p.m., Monday,
April 11, 2005
at the Texoma Sailing Club, 231 Churchill Lane, Pottsboro, TX
75076-3151 to be on-time. An entry form is attached and is also
available electronically (click the bold characters or see
below lower left). You may include a check payable to Texoma
Sailing Club for your entry fee and dinner tickets or you may
register on-line and pay fees at registration with cash,
check, MasterCard, or Visa.) Cancellations will be accepted and
refunds made until April 11, 2005.
No
registrations will be accepted after noon, Wednesday, April 13,
2005.
2.3.
Social
tickets MUST be reserved at the time of application and
purchased at registration. Social tickets for events at Grandpappy
Marina are $10.00 for Friday and $25.00 for Saturday, the latter
ticket is all-inclusive. Dinner tickets for children 12 and under,
are $5.00 per child, per night. Tickets will not be sold at
the door on Friday or Saturday. The Denison Chamber is also planning
an offsite social event at Tanglewood Resort which is $45 per
person. Transportation to and from that event is available and must
be requested in advance.
3. Fees
3.1.
The entry fee is $100 and a $50 late processing fee will be assessed
to all applications received after 6:00 p.m.,
Monday, April 11, 2005.
4.
Schedule
4.1.
All Skippers are required to check in with Registration
Officials to pick up their Skippers Packet including Sailing
Instructions, Competitor List, Class Flag, and to sign completed
entry forms that were electronically submitted. Times are listed in
4.3 below.
4.2.
The
Skippers Meeting will be held at the Regatta Pavilion at 10:00 a.m.
on Friday, April 15th, 2005.

5. Sailing
Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available after 5:00 pm, April 14,
2005 at the check-in station at the Regatta Pavilion.
6. Venue
6.1.
Grandpappy Point Marina is the location of the regatta harbor.
6.2.
The racing
area will be on Lake Texoma, East of the Marina and will be shown in
the Sailing Instructions.
6.3.
There will be
two separate race courses. Course 1 (Low-PHRF Spinnaker and faster
One Design classes) will consist of Windward/Leeward courses (offset
marks and gates may be used). Course 2 (High-PHRF Spinnaker and
Cruising classes) will use Windward/Leeward and/or Triangle courses
(offset marks may be used).
7.
Measurement/Weigh-In
Measurement is not required, but each boat is expected to submit
proof of a valid certificate, if required by their ODR class. The
Organizing Authority will not be responsible for conducting or
administering weigh-ins as required by ODR class rules. Local ODR
class associations shall be responsible for conducting weigh-ins if
required.
8. Scoring
The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the RRS, will be used.
Each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races;
this amends RRS A2. There are five races planned. One completed race
will constitute a regatta.
9. Radio
Communication
All
boats must be equipped with a working VHF radio,
either fixed or handheld for use in hailing over early, general
recalls, race notification, and rescue.
10. Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to at least the top three finishers of each
class.
11.
Launching/Loading
Marina personnel will be on-station to assist in launching of
registered boats beginning at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005.
There will be no charge to the competitors for launching or loading
of registered boats. Slips will be assigned on a first come, first
served basis and will be available only to registered entrants.
Slips at the gas dock are available for rent through the Marina.
Storage and launching for boats arriving prior to April 14, 2005,
may be made by arrangements with Grandpappy Point Marina @
